5-Alive! Youth Group

About the Group
We are a group of young people from grades 5-12 who get together regularly on Sunday nights, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for fellowship, fun activities, learning and snacks. We usually have a major event once every month or two that is dedicated to serving God through philanthropic activities, allowing us to be good stewards and disciples of Jesus.

We chose the name 5-Alive! in part because of our wake-a-thon last October, where we stayed up until 5 a.m. and were still alive afterwards! Secondly, our youth group starts at grade 5, and most importantly, we are alive for Christ!

Some of the activities we have participated in so far:

  • The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
  • The Church's Food Drive for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
  • Tour of Lester's Farm
  • Sliding Party at the Experimental Farm
  • Karaoke Christmas Party
  • Christmas Caroling at the Masonic Lodge
  • Mummering at the Church's Seniors Dinner
  • The 30-Hour Famine
  • The Off-the-Grid Sleepover

Worship Participation
We lead the worship once a month, during the evening service on the third Sunday of the month. We use a variety of worship styles to increase our knowledge of various styles of worship expressions.
